Husband doesn't love wife

Question:

My husband is very religious and soft in nature and always has people comming to him for help and guideance because of his excellent character. He does fullfil most of his duties as a husband but we have many problems.He has been phsyically and verbally abusive and has spat on me various occassions.He never shows affection, love, has been dishonest many occassions and has admitted he married me because he felt sorry for me and that i have ruined his life.His frustration as a result of marrying me is causing us great saddness and misery. How should a woman continue in a marriage if she knows her husband doesnt love her or feels wanted by him?

Allah and His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) have told us about the great good that lies in making the commitment to repair relationships. As such, you and your husband should strive to make this commitment, and then seek qualified counselling on how to heal your relationship.

There is nothing more beloved to Allah and His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) than repairing relationships; and nothing more beloved to the Devil than breaking them.

And Allah alone gives success.
