In my humble opinion, tajwid is not a do-it-yourself science. It is best learned with qualified teachers. If you do not have any Qur'an teachers in your area, you might look into purchasing tajwid software. However, it is definitely worthwhile to learn this science from a live person. Have you checked with your local masajid? Many imams have been trained to recite the Qur'an and can teach the basic rules of tajwid. The basics are not hard to learn, and really just involve learning to pronounce the Arabic alphabet properly.
