Wudu: Problems of Excitement

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Question:

Say brother X has a problem w/ madhy (pre-sexual fluid) and desire. He is married, and is easily excited. Once excited if even for a couple of minutes, madhy comes out intermittently for 1-2 hrs after the initial excitement. He can't pray during those 1-2 hrs w/o madhy coming out. What should he do if prayer time is running out?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu alaikum,

This is usually the “squeezies problem.” If one keeps checking oneself by squeezing, stuff will keep coming out, though nothing would come out (immediately, at least).

One should do wudu, wet one’s private parts and underwear, and pray. Then, unless absolutely certain that something actually came out, there is no need to worry.

Walaikum assalam,
Faraz Rabbani.

Now What?

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Knowledge is only through study." While some knowledge can be gained from reading or casually listening to lectures, the best means to gain knowledge is through finding a qualified teacher and then setting up a systematic program of learning. Picking up a book or reading an article and trying to figure things out on our own is no substitute for learning from someone who has a direct link to our living tradition.
