Walaikum assalam,
Allama Ibn Abidin (Allah have mercy on him) quotes Imam al-Haddadi's al-Jawhara al-Nayyira, which is a commentary on Imam Quduri's Kitab that wearing a ring made from metal, brass, copper and lead is offensive (makruh) for both men and women.
Also he mentions further that there is no problem wearing a ring made of metal which has a coating or covering of silver such that the metal itself cannot be seen. (Allama Ibn Abidin, Hashiya ibn Abidin pg 360)
